Spoilers to the stars

We, like the rest of the world, have some thoughts on Star Wars: The Force Awakens. Unlike other podcasts we focus on the important things: distrust of droids, watching Star Wars with your parents, casual feminism, Han’s terrible finances, and Rey’s eventual turn to the dark side. Obviously SPOILERS.

Our favorite Star Wars related things on the internet.

Whiskey Trek Fantastic

In this episode we join Liz Lemon abroad in Whiskey Tango Foxtrot, trek back to the jungle with The Legend of Tarzan, follow the King of the Hufflepuffs as he learns about Fantastic Beasts and Where to Find Them, and rock out to Star Trek Beyond.

  • Apologies Harry Potter fans, but at least Gillian was close! Luna Lovegood marries Newt Scamander’s grandson Rolf.
  • The first Tarzan movie, Tarzan of the Apes, was released in 1918. There have been OVER 40 movie variations of this character, with the last major, live-action motion picture being released in 1998. It’s definitely due for an update.

Embracing the ninja turtle apocalypse

In this episode we find our favorite ninja friends making a comeback in Ninja Turtles 2: Out of the Shadows, wonder if karma is creepy in The Benefactor, watch young mutants take on a new god in X-Men: Apocalypse, and once again rely on Jeff Goldblum to save the world in Independence Day: Resurgence.

American Race to the Dawn of Justice

In this episode we tolerate more of the OJ trial in American Crime Story, watch Jesse Owens basically defeat the Nazis in Race, want to spend more time with some no-so-Nice Guys, and watch our favorite couple work through a serious spat in Batman v. Superman: Dawn of Justice.

Things mentioned:

  • Race is NOT a Disney movie. But it sure feels like it.
  • Carice van Houten aka the Red Woman in Game of Thrones is in Race. It says she plays famed propagandist Leni Riefenstahl but she also probably gives birth to at least one shadow baby.
  • Checked to see if Jason Sudeikis is going to be in more dramas, his next upcoming movie is Mother’s Day. One step forward…..
  • Ryan Murphy once said, “Face it, I’m legend. It’s happened.” I like that this guy makes stuff.
  • We still haven’t seen Aquaman OR this guy.

Things not mentioned but still interesting:
