The FantasticTrain wreck

THE PODCAST IS HERE. Sorry, WordPress is being weird

Hello there,

The title of this post is NOT an allusion to the quality of the episode. Although, full disclosure, we were drinking old, possibly spoiled, wine.

Are you watching the Oscars? That’s when we’re writing this. The best actor category is actually going to be close! Intrigue!

Anyways, in this episode we watch Nicholas Cage get in touch with his Asian roots in Outcast, watch Hugh Grant/Judi Dench romance young coeds in The Rewrite, laugh a lot (and maybe fawn over Bill Hader) in Trainwreck and are cautiously optimistic about the new Fantastic 4.

Video podcast! Sort of.

A few people have said that they like the podcast — but hey! — we review movie trailers and they would like to watch them with us.

So here is a youtube version of the podcast. You can watch the movie trailer along with us and then just listen to the rest.

Hope it helps!

Both of us are pretty excited about the trailers this week. We like 3 outta 4. And one we will probably hate watch!

This week we hang out with the sexy/scary siblings at Crimson Peak, see handsome spies fight in The Man From U.N.C.L.E, watch women (who are different!) come together only to get into more predictable hijinks in Hot Pursuit and get pumped up and ready to riot with Straight Outta Compton

We’re just magical 5 to 7 DUFFs

Bros being bros. Bro

Bros being bros. Bro

Hello all,

We’re back! Did you watch the BAFTAs? Is everyone on Team Redmayne? You probably should be.

In this episode we dream of our 5 to 7 boyfriends, get sucked into the abyss with Sam Rockwell in Poltergeist, balk at the idea that Mae Whitman could be considered The DUFF and grind away with Magic Mike XXL

Things mentioned in the episode:

  • In this week’s “Gillian can’t remember people’s name” — It’s Jared Harris in poltergeist. Long live Lane Pryce!
  • According to Wikipedia, the idea of 5 to 7 is real and called Cinq à sept in France. How fancy.
  • Well, DUFF is on Urban Dictionary. So it probably is a real, horrible term.
  • Jaclyn is right. It’s pretty hard to find a clean-cut film/picture of Sam Rockwell. Oh wait, Iron Man 2! Professional arms dealer.

  • We did not mention this, but if you can’t make 50 Shades of Grey this weekend…..here’s 50 Shades of Buscemi. It’s much better
Um, no DUFF here.

Um, no DUFF here.

Still Our Favorite Things?!

Hello all,

Sorry but there will be no new episode this week. Gillian and Jaclyn live in the magical land of Tampa where once a year people act/dress like pirates and all Hell breaks loose. Needless to say schedules were messed up and much pirate drinks were consumed so here we are.

But GOOD NEWS. We have re-released an episode from last year. It’s Our Favorite Things episode where we go over our favorite movies, actors, worst movies, favorites directors, etc. Gillian has listened to it…..and is kinda embarrassed. It’s amazing how much your taste and beliefs in movies can change in less than a year. However, she still defends Adam Sandler. She’s unsure why, but she totally does.

We’ll be back next week!
